How to change package name
Whats is Package name? Package name is the unique id for your android app which is required to upload your app on google play store on that id. Is basically resemble with a domain name and it looks like: com.android.example
If you are making an android app in Android Studio then you have to create it during starting a new android project.
So let’s get started, today we will learn how you can change package name correctly in android studio without getting any error or issue in app.
First of search Android studio in your computer then run it as administrator as shown in the below screenshot.
Now click on the open button to open an existing android studio project as shown in the below screenshot
After opening you project and sync successful, Click on the gear icon beside of your project in left sidebar as shown in the below screenshot
After uncheck this setting package name will broken in individual words as shown in the below image
After that, leave to first name – com, and right click on the 2nd name – socialgroups (It may be different in your project but process is same.) then select Refactor -> Rename, after click it will show a warning like the below screenshot, just click on the – In Whole Project.
Now, do same with other word – stickers (Its may be different in your project but the process is same for all.) as shown in the below image right click on stickers -> Refactor -> Rename, then again it will show warning like above warning image just press – In Whole Project.
Now goto
manifest -> AndroidManifest.xml
file and check that your package name is changed or not or it not changed successfully then it will show error in this file. If no error shown, it means package name is changed successfully, and also you have to goto
build menu -> Rebuild Project
If it also sync successful then finally you have changed your package name successfully.
